Need help with singing in front of others?

anxiety inspiration singer tips wellness Dec 16, 2024

In March of 2020 when the pandemic hit, my life changed drastically… as it did for pretty much everyone on this planet.

I was suddenly teaching through zoom which was a new experience for me. It presented- at first- a unique set of challenges. How would this work? Would I still feel connected to my students and community?

I was lucky. The changes I experienced at first were challenging, but it was through these challenges that I experienced a wake up call.

Like so many of us I was looking for a way to pivot to experience more joy and fulfillment in my life and connect to my purpose more deeply. But how?

I was now working from home which gave me extra time that I was previously spending on commuting. I began to think thoughtfully about how I could use that time to bring more joy, more wellness into my life.

It was at that point that I took a class called The Science of Well Being (taught by Dr. Lori Santos of The Happiness Lab) where I learned about the research behind what really makes humans happy and the misconceptions we carry around happiness. (Hint: it’s not about material things or money).

I knew this deep down already, but hearing the latest research validated what I already knew in my heart and inspired me to put this knowledge into practice.

It was through this class that I learned how to work on increasing my own happiness by incorporating specific wellness practices into my life.

This work, along with my coaching certification program, is what inspired me to want to share this knowledge with you.

I wanted to help those like you dial down your inner critic, bring joy, freedom and wellness to your creative practice and life.

I developed my own class that I began early on that year called Joyful Singing.

A small group of us began to gather to sing songs and share and support and learn new ways to care for our voices, bodies and minds.

What started as those early gatherings in song is what I now call Monday Night Singing Group.

Incidentally, Joyful Singing is now a whole program/course/community/lifestyle that puts joy at the center of everything. It’s rooted in wellness and mindset to help you find your voice, help you grow as a singer, connect you with others, and move you forward with your goals. I’m relaunching this program in January and if you signup on the waitlist you'll receive a special discounted offer.

While Joyful Singing has been brewing and developing, we've kept those monthly gatherings going- our Monday Night Singing Group- because of the community and support that has been cultivated.
